So, I said that I would never do another blog, but here it is.  This is a travel blog though, so I assume that it..s acceptable.

Arriving here in Spain was a bit of a cunt, becuase to begin with I fail to fit into plane seats harder than New Zealand Fail Guy fails at not failing.  That..s some pretty epic fail right there.  Anyway, there was a load of confusion at Charles de Gaul airport, and I almost missed my connecting flight... my luggage did, however, manage to miss it, so things were a little bit hairy.  Still, I met a chap who was in a similar situation, who spoke good english (turns our he..s a professor at Birmingham University) and he gave me a bit of a hand re. making a claim for my baggage.  After a little argey bargey I managed to arrange for it to come on the next flight to Madrid, and then get delivered straight to the hostel that we..re staying at.

So far we..ve had a couple of tours of Madrid: it..s a rather large city, but it..s pretty easy to get your head around, once you figure out that all of the street signs are painted tiles on the wall.  We..ve also been to Toledo, where I purchased a rather nice sword, and today we visited El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen.

Last night I went out for a little on my own, because apparently at a pub two doors down from our hostel there was a load of goth/metal type peoples.  Walked in, got a pint, found about 10 or so of people of a similiar sub-cultural persuasion, and we got on great.  Anyway, time is up, but I shall add some more again later.
