Can we please completely eliminate the phrase "touch base" from the Engrish rangrage? Or could I at least have someone explain to me why that phrase bugs the shit out of me so much when I hear it?

Think about that for a bit and let's touch base when we think we're getting closer to a decision or explanation.

Ughghg... as soon as I read "action item" I blew chunks. I hear that one a lot as well. Why can't people just talk normally in the workplace?

Instead of "touch base" how about at least softening it up by using "check in"? It's the same amount of syllables, and sounds so much more.... normal.

And "Action Item" could just simply be translated to "If we don't get this done, we're fucked!"

It is a very condesending phrase. what should be said is : ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! Let's leave it at that.
