	Chelle & Daniel Rochelle Lakey	De La Soul has been present in my life since they appeared on the scene. Hearing the name is nostalgic but also exciting because I'm always waiting to see what they do next. Conjers memories in my grandmother's living room on the floor in front of the boom box with the double tape deck. We had a tape of 3 feet high and rising on tape! the first time hip hop took me to a fun and magical place! fast forward>> de la is dead and i was in high school. singing Saturday in the mirror on Saturday mornings fast forward>>stakes is high, I was away from Cali for the first time living in N.C. just like comfort food. fast forward>>returned to UCSD only to have De La perform at the Sun God festival. the first time I saw them live and direct. fast forward>>saw them perform at then Zoes in San Jose and shared some Patron shots with the bros after the show. fast forwad>>bionix I & II, grind date...sheer perfection. They are oh so serious about the music and never seem to get caught up in the latest hype or fad but consistently produce that great music.
