Len Wiseman, you're a hack.  Vampires and werewolves were done thrity years before you got it into your head that you had an original idea worth sharing with the world.
In honor of the Balboa's re-opening  in a few short weeks, I'm  posting entries from some its (not so) finest hours.
Enjoy this piece of coolness from 1972.

San Diego Union B-9. Wednesday 26 April 1972.

"See it with someone you HATE"?!?! Not exactly a ringing endorsement for their film! I want to email the Balboa's projectionist Dan Whitehead and see if he remembers the "live onstage" werewolf VS vampire fight!! I miss live gimmicks - we got to see horror TV host Svengoulie at the Strand Theater in Hamden Connecticut in 1970, for a showing of Count Yorga Vampire! He was giving out fake plastic fangs that perfectly replaced the set missing from my Barnabas Collins "Hangman" board game (the game prize was that the winner got to wear the fangs in their mouth ---- eeeeewwww! I probably didn't lose the oringal set...I HID them!)

Don't knock Count Yorga. If memory serves, he got a shout-out by Alan Moore in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Live Gimmicks are missed, I think the last notable live gimmick was when the Harry Potter publishers sent out a "Magic Bus" to promote the 7th book (sadly, not in the Ken Kesey vein).
I wonder if anyone kept the "Authentic" victims photos- despite its cinematic ancestor (Underworld), there has to be some sort of cult for this picture.
I'm looking for more cool Balboa ads, I've got one I'll put up next week. It's... unique.
