Current mood: energetic
so last night me and my friend Mike went to the Home Grown show in Santa Ana at the Galaxy Theater. We got there and there was NOBODY there. I felt so bad for Home Grown cuz they are such a good band and they don't get any of the recognition that they deserve. so anyway... we get into the tiny "pit" right before HG comes on. Then they come out and it sux cuz they only had like 50 ppl there. so they start the show...
Give It Up (sounded great with Johnee singing) I Love You, Not Impotency (old-ass song that they never play) Barbie Girl Tomorrow (Johnee sang this good too) She's Anti Bad News Blair Waiting On Me Last Nite Regrets Keep Your Distance You're Not Alone (Johnee can fuckin sing Adam's songs!) Sixteen (they also never play this!) My Time Alone Second Best Kiss Me, Diss Me (which they usually close out shows with) S.F.L.B.
at some point during the show I asked Johnee if I could play guitar for one song and he said "yeah if you want to" (sarcastically) so i thought nothing of it. then after "Kiss Me, Diss Me" people were calling out for them to play S.F.L.B. They said they would play it, but their new bassist Ted doesn't know it. So Johnee asked me if I could play it and I said Hell Yea! so they let me come up onstage and play it on guitar and the guitarist Dan played the bass. I got to say the infamous line "Short in the Front, Long in the Back!" and then we jammed the song. they couldn't believe that I knew it and they were all so pumped. so the show ended and I tried to get them to play "Surfer Girl" by playing the main riff but they said no and walked off stage. then the awesome security lady let me and my friend walk backstage and thank the band. and then I had Johnee talk to my mom on the phone and try to convince her to let me go to their show on thursday. I talked to Dan and Darren and I got a signed Drumstick and a free shirt and like 3 picks including the one I used. so yea that show kicked ass and I know im a stud lol.
