Well, I'm not sure how many months we've been on the road now.I 've lost count.I think it's 4 or 5...We just racked our credit cards to purchase an RV this past spring in order to make our life "a little easier" on the road. We've been slugging it out for 10 years now in crotchity old vans and cramming ourselves into gear filled spaces with no room for legs, or any other body parts for that matter. Breaking down has always been and will always be apart of being on the road. But I was convinced that I needed more luxury...I got it.Now when we break down , we've really broken down. You can't change the Tires by yourself because it's too heavy, you have to get 2 tow trucks because we pull a trailer behind full of gear, so , you have to wait twice as long and everyone needs to have an AMA card!! And lets not forget about the lack of available parts and trying to find parking ANYWHERE.(Thus the tow truck driver leaves your unmovable vehicles on the side of the road CLOSE to the repair shop).
The great thing about our new wheels is that when we do break down we can make fresh coffee, watch a movie and move around.Lay down and have a sleep and you have a bathroom ladies!!!
Ok, so I'm really broke and the repair bills and rentals are KILLING us, but when we ultimately break down , (and you know we're gonna..)I don't have to pee on the side of the road and I can have a fresh coffee and something fresh to eat.... So as I'm sitting here in High Level and my RVis still in Yellowknife with no sure date of repair or cost, and my rental vehicle due back tomorrow(just a quick 1400 km trip and still have to play the same night).I'm thinking.....WORTH EVERY PENNY!!
