Band Name :
Album Title : Idees Choc & Propos Chic
French
hepcats The Dadds, look uber-cool on the front cover of their debut
record, posing like extras from a Nouvelle Vague flick, and the music
contained within, could well become the soundtrack. Cool is a recurring
theme, and the Dadds, play one of the most original takes on Garage and
Beat I've heard in years. Spicing their organ driven YeYe with jazzy
vocals and Scott Walker type melodies, the Dadds are destined to become
the favourite band of fans of Eurobeat and French Pop. As one can read
in the lyrics sheet of this deluxe release, the Dadds manage to
namedrop Francois Truffaut, the Pretty Things, Ho Chi Minh, Mary Quant
and Santiago Bernabeu into their songs, so now, I am kicking myself for
not studying hard enough at French classes, as all the songs but one,
are in French! This is a seriously fun and smart album that guarantees
repeated listening and as of now, the Dadds are on my top priority list
of bands to watch on a live setting. And for all of the analogue
challenged among you, Green Cookie is releasing this album on CD, so
there's no excuses!
