Daniel Kitson's a genius and down right fantastic!  If you get the chance see this show!

The following is a review from the Metro -

Daniel Kitson: It's The Fireworks Talking
Daniel Kitson

'If I was a comic, I'd quit after seeing that,' declared one punter exiting this hour and a half monologue from Daniel Kitson.

Quite an accolade for something that reluctant former Perrier-winner Kitson claims he was worried he'd be bored of by now (it was written for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival earlier this year).

Thank God the ennui didn't kick in, because It's The Fireworks Talking is a wonderful piece. For geeky Kitson, fireworks spark in him a mix of happiness and other moving, tummy-tingling emotions.

So too do stars, snow and paddling. Here he talks about all of them with an almost childlike awe, throwing in lots of lovely words that you haven't heard in ages and deftly flicking from his loving, nostalgia-tinged tale to the reality of the here and now without a blink.

So a line about making powdery footprints in freshly settled snow gets as many laughs as his trying to work out how many Edinburgh festivals he's performed at, simply because of his masterly ability to manipulate his audience.

A 90-minute tale full of surprise, engagement and anticipation that is more magical than Harry Potter – this is a Kitson classic. Five stars does not do it justice.
