*Disclaimer: I do NOT hate Joel Osteen.
*Clarification: I hate nearly everything he SAYS.
*Case in point:
*If you think distinguishing Christianity from Mormonism is trivial, then you must think that distinguishing the Truth from lies and distinguishing heaven from hell is also trivial.*
The previous statement only applies to those of you who claim to be followers and believers in the historic Christian faith and believers in the truth of the Bible as the infallible Word of God. The truths of the Bible compel the true Christian to trust it. To deny or water down any of the Scriptures would be a denial of the Christian faith that boldly proclaims who Jesus was and is and is to come and who we were and are and will be.
The Bible is clear.
Mormons wouldn’t be good Mormons if they denied what believe. Muslims wouldn’t be true Muslims if they did the same. I’m not a Mormon or a Muslim, so I don’t believe what they believe. I’m a Christian, therefore I believe the claims of Christianity---I wouldn’t be a true Christian if I didn’t.
The rules apply across the board! Why is it ok for Muslims and Mormons, etc., to believe the tenets of THEIR faiths, while Christians are "intolerant" and "narrow-minded" for believing OURS?
The claims of the Christian faith are exclusive, yes. But there’s no getting around that fact. Don’t call yourself a "Christian" if you’re not willing to hold to what Christianity teaches. Be part of a religion that DOES believe what you believe, whatever that might be.
And don’t call yourself a "Christian pastor" if you don’t preach the Gospel of Christ.
Be who you say you are. Call yourself what you really are. I can respect ANYONE who does that. It’s the posers and the masqueraders that I find difficult to respect.
K. That’s all I got right now.
I’d love to hear your thoughts/opinions/comments.
Grace/Peace/Truth 2 U,
Jeremy
