Seriously, M$ needs to get a good ass fucking for how much it sucks. Microsoft has always pissed the fuck out of me, from it's shitty memory intensive OS to its fucked up content delivery and payment system on Xbox live, and from its fucked up licensing shit to its piss poor customer support for nearly all of its products.

But I've dealt with all that shit without making too much of a fuss, because to be honest, it's competitors (aka Apple) sure as hell aren't much better. But at least, if I bought an iPod or a Mac, it wouldn't fucking die for no explainable reason over a year after I purchased it.  My XBox 360 Elite that I paid $480+tax for died for no reason tonight, and it will take me nearly 6 weeks to get it back from M$, also, if for some reason they can't fix mine and need to ship me a new one (which happens often) I won't be able to access my LEGALLY OWNED PAID FOR content offline due to their horrible digital media protection BULLSHIT.

I would understand if my 360 dying was a fluke. But my 360 had the RRoD (Red Ring of Death) which so far has affected THIRTY PERCENT of ALL 360s SOLD. That means that 1 out of every 3 fucking consoles that M$ makes breaks from a hardware failure due to their use of shitty parts so that they can screw their customers out of as much dough as possible.

Seriously, so many people I know have had their 360s RRoD. Mine, 2 different Josh's that I know, Matt's, one of my friends online... that's just people that I thought of off of the top of my head. It's bullshit to the maximum.

M$ has gotten so much of my money it's ridiculous. I've owned both original Xbox and a 360, bought tons of games, have 2 PCs running Vista as their main OS, another with XP, I have TONS of Halo licensed merchandise, most of the revenue of that shit went to M$ also. I own their shitty 2007 edition of Office, in which they actually got WORSE than 2003, in my opinion.

M$, some of the stuff you make is actually worth the money. The 360 is great when it isn't dead on my counter waiting for you to send a box to ship it in, and when your servers aren't fried for 2 weeks at a time, and when you aren't artificially charging $10-$15 for a game that the developer planned on releasing for free, ect. And while I'm not too big of a fan of Windows, XP was a solid operating system, and contrary to many people's beliefs, I actually think that Vista was a step up from XP, aside from it's absolutely horrid usage of RAM. I prefer Linux, but because your damn Windows is so big, I realize that if I want all my shit to work without problems I HAVE to use your shit.

Luckily, I don't have to use your shit Office 2007, I now use OpenOffice.Org, which is considerably better in my opinion, yet is also free (standard edition of Office 2007 with OneNote, Word, Excel, and Power Point = $130). Maybe once Wine becomes a bit better I'll finally dump your OS too.

Seriously, M$, you're looking shittier and shittier every time I look at you. I still think you might be a bit better than Apple for now, but that's like comparing pile of shit to a slightly smellier pile of shit. One might smell slightly worse, but they still both reek of shit.

Glad to hear it, man. Glad to hear it. Now... If only you can just go cold turkey on it. then you'll be fine. Yes, you'll have to mostly abandon your games, but I don't see that as a big deal. I had to do it with mine, but I had played them so much anyway, that I could beat the games while not even paying attention to them. So it's really not that much of a downside. And think of it. You may lose some games, but you'll lose all the headaches, complaining, and bad tech support from M$ by switching. Soooo unless you're a masochist and enjoy that kinda stuff... then go with Ubuntu. Dan and I will be waiting for you on the other side with open arms, and a back-slap to your face for taking so long.
=)
