1. How and
why did “The Sonics” start?
The Sonics were a local band until we recorded "The Witch" and
then we started getting national attention.
2. “The Sonics”, what does the name of the band mean and how did it turn out?
A Sonic Boom is
the huge explosive sound a jet airplane makes at super Sonic speeds.
3. How easy was the reunion? How come anyway?
There was a lot of
nervous energy. Because we had so many people asking us to get back together,
that we finally thought maybe the time was right.
4. What you remember from the 60’s?
They say if you can
remember the 60's , you probably weren't there! We were there, but
it would take days to tell you all about it.
5. How
would you describe the sound of the band?
Loud and Explosive.
6. Do you
consider your sound as mainstream or underground?
I would say possibly a little of both at times.
7. Which musicians or bands ‘changed’ your life?
There are
tons of them.
8. What is
on your turntables these days?
All types of rock.
9. Which was the best and the worst moment of the band during the first years?
The best moment was
when I was driving down the street and are first recording, "The
Witch", came through the speakers for the first time. The worst moment was
probably when the band broke up.
10. What kind of people usually came to your live performances?
Rock and Roll addicts like us.
11. Can you
share with us your future plans?
To Rock and Roll until the day I die, and even that may not stop me.
12. You’ll play for the first time in Greece. What do you expect from
the Greek audience?
We 've heard that Greece rocks!
13. What should the Greek audience expect from The Sonics in the autumn gig at
Belle Vue’s “Athenaeum Cave” at the Gagarin in Athens?
Raw, loud, explosive,
screaming rock!
