Category: Art and Photography
I am looking for bands to shoot Promo Live or Both. Below is a short Bio with list of bands I have shot. Rates starting at $75 for a LIMITED TIME.
Greetings! My name is Norman Sands, and I am a professional performance photographer based out of Chicago. For the past 14 years I've been pursuing the art of photography, which is my life's passion. My work deals primarily with musicians and their fans at concerts and festivals, although lately I've found myself with a growing interest for nature and architecture as well.
I realized my love for photography when I began shooting at Grateful Dead shows in the early 90's. The pictures back then were mostly of my friends and I having fun in the parking lot, but that's when everything just sort of 'clicked'. My love for music, photography, and travel soon intertwined, and taking pictures took on a whole new dimension, becoming more than just a simple hobby. I had discovered my life's pursuit. And I've been following my dream ever since.
I do photography because I love it and it brings me joy and happiness like nothing else I have ever done. It's like trying to capture moments through the mind's eye. It's taking points of interest or things that I love and trying to capture it to share with others.
Although most of my experience is with concert photography, I'm open for shooting anything that's interesting and fun! I've done promo work for bands as well as for CD's and websites. My work has been featured in Relix magazine and an upcoming issue of Guitar Player Magazine websites such as Jambase.com, Glidemagazine.com, 10klf.com, WEFest.com, Setlists.com, and also on Jambands.com, where I won a contest for Best Amateur Photographer in 2003. I work for the 10KLF Festival 5 years and We Fest 4 years.
Some of the bands I've worked with include Cornmeal, Family Groove Company, Just Infinite, Danny Burns Defectors, and Mike Edwards. I've also shot over 350 bands such as the Foo Fighters, Mandy Moore, Dashboard Confesional, Staind, Oasis, Seether, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Grateful Dead, Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends, String Cheese Incident, Gov't Mule, George Clinton and Parliament Funk, Hot Buttered Rum, Keller Williams, moe., Widespread Panic, and Umphrey's McGee. You can see the full list below.
As stated before, I am based out of Chicago but am available for location and travel assignments. I am totally digital in order to provide service and efficiency of the highest quality. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, and I look forward to working with you!
