Hardcore music can be defined as a movement, attitude and culture that keeps it real and on the street level. In the mid-eighties, CBGB's Sunday hardcore matinees became the Mecca for the New York hardcore scene.  ..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

One influential band to come out of that era was "In Your Face", formed by Eric Meneses. After several years and playing shows along side, Token Entry, Krack Down, Youth Of Today, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheer Terror, Biohazard, Henry Rollins and Gorilla Biscuits, Eric made the decision to leave the band.

In 1993, Eric and long time friend Jeff Lockdown (Napalm;CD's - Cruel Tranquility & Zero To Black), helped form the original BILE (N.Y. Industrial band). After the release of Suck Pump, Mortal combat Soundtrack and several US tours, BILE was moving away from the aggressive crossover sound. As a result of direction and personnel issues, Jeff and Eric left the band.

For the next few years, Jeff had formed several punk/hardcore bands including Non Serviam featuring fellow S.I.B. friend Archie AK47.

However, it wasn't until the summer of 2003 that Lockdown was formed. Recruiting Robert J. Priomos (Napalm), Lorenzo Golia, and Justin P. Flynn, the unit  fused both old & new East Coast style hardcore.

Lockdown completed their 1st album "American Made" in February of 2005. The 13 tracks were produced by Danny & Billy of Biohazard. The album features guest appearences by Billy Graziadei of Biohazard, Bobby Dufree of 4 In Tha Chamber & Kelly Abe of Sicks Deep.

Shortly after, Lockdown was featured on Jamey Jasta's Stillborn Records Compilation for the track "Step Over The Bodies".

In 2006, the band under went a line-up change to the rhythm section, which now consists of Bassist - Ivan Gonzalez & Drummer - Doug Bohnz formerly of Suffocation and Welt. Lockdown has also brought in the addition of a third guitarist, Nicky X - formerly of Crown Of Thorns, Skarhead, NY Hoods & The Cro-Mags.

Since forming, Lockdown has shared the same stage with Agnostic Front, Madball, Sworn Enemy, E-Town Concrete, Murphy's Law, Ragmen, Leeway, Harley's War, DOA, The Dickies, Tension, Neglect, 25 Ta Life, Biohazard, & Subzero.
