Heres a blog .........
Matthew 4:18-22
18As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 20At once they left their nets and followed him.
21Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him
At once they left their nets, immediately they left their nets and followed Jesus. They didnt go talk it over, they didnt have a prayer service over it, they didnt call a church committee together.....At once they followed Jesus. As im getting ready for camp, Im praying that everyone there has the same passion to drop their nets at the door and follow Jesus at once. I talked to my youth about not waiting until the last day of camp to go after God.
To run after him with everything that they have on Monday night...because God is Good....and he will never give you less than what you' ve already had...so each night....if we drop our nets....God will overwhelm us with his presence.
But what about your everyday life. what is in your net that holds you back? Is if your job, Friends, money, sin, gossip, partying? What keeps us from seperating ourselves from the world ...dropping our nets and following him?
Its so important to be a person of passion (with purpose). And in order to do that you must be a person of prayer, & persistance & the word. Its not always easy. But when you develop a passion for God through prayer, fasting, his word......you will continually live in his presence. Worship will be your lifestyle, not just an event. What is worship to you? Is it with passion or contempt? When you begin to consume the things of the Lord .....then...He will consume you ! How awesome to know that He is that all consuming fire that can burn up all the junk in our lives to leave us as pure Gold!
matthew 5:13-16
13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
DROP THOSE NETS AND BE SALT!
