Current mood:Avenged
This blog does exactly what it says on the tin.

At approx 3:34 am this morning (9/10/08) a rogue bee entered my premises illegally, attacking me in my bedroom. Said bee flew into my vulnerable face, then made its way around my room like an angry poltergeist.

2 points.

1. The bee was not there when I went to bed. All windows and doors were closed and locked and having searched bee, I found no lock picking devices.
2. Aren't bees supposed to be our friendly neighbours? Think I read that somewhere. Bees are our neighbours, that was the crux of the article.

I had to get out of bed and usher it into my lounge so that I could go back to sleep and deal with it in the morning. And here's the kicker... IT WAS GONE.

Nah, just kidding, it was on the curtain. Imagine it had been gone though, that'd have been weird. Like a top secret government bee who lives life on the edge and doesn't answer to his long suffering superiors.

I have a gig tonight. My first one in ages, and I've managed to catch a fekin cold. Probably doesn't help that I've spent the last month drunk in Plymouth/Glasgow/Bratislava/Belfast. All wonderful places by the way. No bee attacks noted.

Have a listen to Dave Gibson's new songs (in my top friends, not sure if he's uploaded them yet, but listen when he does). We wrote them with our minds. They are called Be There (not bee there) and When I Leave Home. (Not When I leave bee. That doesn't make any sense)

GOOD TIMES.

Dave

Come back to High Barn again one day, yeah?? That's if it's still there??

Awww! I love bumble bees. Not sure I'd want to go to bed with one though.
They're an endangered species you know!

I suggest honey and lemon (and wee dram ;
)) to help ease the cold.
Either that or a Vindaloo - brilliant for clearing the sinuses!

Anyway, off to catch my train so see you at the Bedford tonight.

PS: What's Kielty up to in Wakefield?

LOL... that's funny!! Thanks for my first laugh of the day! I was stung by a wasp (at night) a couple of months ago and it actually left a scar! Be aware of anything that flys around at night! Hey BTW great show at the Bedford last night, couldnt tell you had a cold until you mentioned it.
All the Dave's were great as always!

Take care,

Wendy

Maybe it's a Bratislavian bee that hid in your suitcase to sneak into Britain and has only just dared to emerge?Obviously thought it was going to escape under cover of darkness and didn't bank on you locking all your doors and windows. So...if it happens to be a spy as well it's not that clever.

You didn't mention that it had its passport with it either.....so you could be harbouring an illegal immigrant?!
Maybe better to keep quiet about it.........

Darling, check and make sure there isn't an opening to the outside -- some crack or crevice, in that bedroom of yours.

Check and make sure no little hive is being made somewhere in your bedroom either.

Just, to make sure.

Me sick too, just when I had musicians coming to town and staying in my abode.
Nothing like throwing germs all over a good time, eh?

Am glad you got a bit of a reprieve though. Indeed.

And I got my first radio segment with my new dance single.

What fucking happened after you found the bee on the curtain????

I don't have any bee stories but I have a joke about a wasp :-

Man walks into a cake shop, man says to assistant 'Could I have a wasp please?'
Assistant says 'Sorry but we don't sell wasps'
Man says ' Well you've got one in the window!'

Hope you are well and everything is cool and bee free
