Who Gives Kudos:

Friday, October 23, 2009
Good day.

You may or may not know (or care!) that I've been working exclusively as a writer for the last couple of years with very few gigs. Well, due to some "gentle" persuasion I'll be performing a full one off show at the Regal Rooms in Hammersmith on Thursday the 28th January with some special guests.
It should be a good night and I don't think I'll be doing any more for a while after that so if you're around, come along. If not, well... it better be for a damn good reason. You know, like you find an interesting stone and want to polish it up real nice so that it'll fit in as a wonderful centre piece to your stone collection. Or maybe you're just asleep.

GOODPIE.

Dave

Well, January gives me some time to save up money.  I just doubt I'll have enough to travel almost 1/2 way around the world.  Sigh.

Thank you for doing the gig for all who can make it.

This should be fun. D'ya think we can ask Tony M to get a Stannah stair-lift installed at the Distillers so I can get up the stairs? No maybe not? Hmm, well you'll just have to come downstairs and serenade me with an acapella version of Lady Lullaby instead. Still no? Okay, I'll settle for a bottle of Budwieser. I'm definately gonna be there though, I can't miss a night with my old Sned mates.

Morning David. Of course we care. Why do you think we're always nagging.Love that Venue.I have got a nice bowl of polished stones as it happens!. Off to hospital shortly to have a tube pushed down my throat so its good that I have something nice to think about while they're shoving.

Hi

Weell- there’s a surprise… what ‘persuaded’ you?  Can I think of a reason not to be there?  Celtic Connections 2010 (nearly finished by then I hope - press launch this week), studio course, travelling, time, photos, cost,

What’s going on – suddenly you are back online, now posting a gig, whatever next?

Thanks for making my Friday extra special David.  My older son graduated Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh – proud mum.   So much tradition. Fleetwood Mac were magic Thursday - while the sound SECC is so RUBBISH!  Lindsay Buckingham still able to rock and I got some cool pics. Taking Studio portraits tomorrow.  It's been a crazy week for me.

Do I miss your songs and your live performances - I miss them loads.  Miss them very much.

Reasons to be there - your beautiful voice, glad you can share with us.  Photos, memories, London, Tony.., I hope there are no train strikes and I can make it down. You last gig seems a life time ago.  Not sure why music matters so much, but it does quite clearly.

On my blog I wrote -  while things have been quiet for fans this year in a ‘real’ sense more has actually been happening.

Hope I can have a Photo pass?

Paulinex

ps  Ross not keen on Muse’s latest album – while they are his favourite live band.

pss request -  could you have David M play guitar on a couple of songs, and move over to the centre mic - yes that would be very cool.

Pss check out Rosanne Cash’s new album The List. Beautiful voice of Cara Dillon and piano. And the Editors.

Pss please excuse the spaces on my copy and paste – getting new computer next week end and Windows 7 – which I am told will be 10 times faster – whooppee. :)

Hello you
Hope to be at your gig unless something unforeseen comes up!  Will be good to see and hear you live - been quite a while but change is a good thing I've found - opportunites are there to be taken.  Glad the 'gentle' persuasion worked.
Organising my town's Xmas festival lights launch again this year - even though it nearly put my lights out for good last year!  Booked two bands, Take That 2 (who have appeared with TT on their tour) and Big J and the Piccolo Chickens (who are like that Scottish Soul Party Band you enjoy).   I've got an amazing £6,000 outdoor stage which is awesome and some of the best sound and lighting around so should be an amazing show.   I've also managed to get the Manager of Burnley FC - my almost faviourite Scotsman - Owen Coyle - to switch the lights on - hope he's still manager by November 20th - but we have faith!!  Just need it to stop raining for a few hours which is rather a forlorn hope here in the Pennines!

Hi David,

I've got plenty of stones  just waiting to  be polished ( as you can see from my photo )but I might just be able to spare a couple of hours to come and see you -  as it's going to be a one-off performance  -  before getting back to some serious stone polishing..

No way David! A gig on my birthday but I'm living in Edinburgh now and i happen to be in london the weekend before your gig! Rubbish! Thankfully, scotland has a lot of stones...and other stuff that require militant polishing.
