Current mood:  creative
Yesterday I FINALLY got my work permit in the mail, and so now I am looking for help to kickstart my music career here in North America.  I am booking gigs at schools, churches, events/parties, anywhere where people will really listen, and I won't be earning my wage from alcohol sales.
The best place to do this is AT HOME!  Have you ever put on a house concert?  Its easy!  All you do is:
1.  Book one of your favourite musicians (i.e. Me!)
2.  Clear a space in your living room/basement, to seat 20-50 people (depending on the size of your room).  Borrow or rent some extra chairs if needed.
3.  Invite all your friends.
4.  Organize some light refreshments (potluck if you like)
5.  Charge $10 each at the door, to pay the artist and cover any expenses (like chair rental).
6.  Enjoy the show!

In my view, house concerts are the most intimate and meaningful way to experience music, where everyone can meet and speak to the artist, and you can hear every note and every breath.  No crowds, no inflated ticket prices and $5 Cokes, no flashy lights and smoke machines, just MUSIC, up close and personal.  Many people who try this once end up doing it every month, and their friends love them for it.  With a bit of experience, you can quickly book some of the biggest names in independent music - many touring performers fill up their calendar with house concerts around their main tour dates.

If you or your friends don't have a suitable home but would like to put on a concert, contact me and we can work something out.  There is always a venue, always a way.  Looking forward to singing for you soon!

Great Idea Martin!  Glad to hear you are gearing up for doing your music again.  You are too good to not be heard!

If I don't find you CD again soon I may have to buy another one.  I loaned it to a friend who insists he returned it....

Hope all is well with you and yours,

Peace,

No flashy lights?

No smoke?

But, but....

Hmm... I can fix that.

How many folks do you think we could seat in the 1600+ square feet of my basement?

Break a leg and stuff,
Rion
