I really am.

First off the man's a damn genius and he's my favorite song writer of all time...and on top of that I think he's the most interestin' handsome thang on God's green Earth. Put 'em together and you've got my dreamboat...I love my husband more than life but he better watch me around that Billy Joe - he gets me weak in the knees and turns me into a school girl just by grinnin'!

I gotta meet him and hang out with him last night in Helotes, Texas and I'm even more in love with him than I was when I first seen him at the age of 13. It feels like he's huggin' ya when he's just talking to you. Add three Lonestar Beers into my belly, a whole lot in common and a plate of the world's best tamales on the table and we did a whole lotta huggin'.
You know how some of you guys LOVE Elvis? Or you LOVE the Rolling Stones? Or whoever...Billy Joe Shaver is that guy for me. I know I've said this a million times, but I first seen him (and Eddy) play at The Ozark Extravaganza right out of my hometown in Southern Missouri when I was 13 years old...sittin' on the top of a picnic table and eatin' a corn dog...with mustard. Watchin' him and listening to the songs he wrote totally changed dang my life. It was like he was singin' every single one of those songs just for ME. Starin' right at me. Singin' 'em just for me. My friends were all bouncin' around like idiots chasin' eachother and bein' silly...but I was just sitting there stunned holdin' a corndog and starin' at this Billy Joe Shaver fella. 

Hangin' out and talking with him last night was so great for me that it's literally downright embarrassing (well, this whole writing here is plum embarrassing ... but I don't care) ...he's got such a presence about him. And he makes you want to be a better person...be better to people and love more. He's like a Southern Baptist preacher (my Dad went to school to be a Southern Baptist preacher and has that same charisma) - you walk away from him a warm heart and you feel motivated to do good. I love that feeling and I think it's a true gift that he can make a sinner like me feel that way....I love him so.     ...."I want to be the world's best friend...I wanna go around shakin' everybody's hand...I'm just an old chunk of coal now, Lord...but I'm gonna be a diamond some day."

I'm glad his neck is doin' better and he's back doing shows...I think God didn't take him in that accident because he knew we weren't done with him yet. We all need some Billy Joe. If you haven't...and you're taking the time to read this for some reason or another....go out and buy everything he's ever recorded as quick as you can.

I'm going to be merchin' again for him soon (YAY!!!) and I seriously just can't wait. I'd give up whatever is going on in the world of mah own band just to hang out with this guy for ten minutes...I love him so
