Hola!
Just a quick update from The Artist Life world.
Firstly, I would like to take a quick moment of grievance
for the summer with those of us heading back to school tomorrow, where does the
time go? I hope that everyone can say they
had the summer of their lives and they took every chance that came in front of
them. Isn’t that what summer’s all
about? Believing that you would be the
one person in history to live forever?
It is for me.
So back into the over-priced textbooks, clumsy first
encounters, butterflies and the thirsty search for a passionate fall
flame. Enjoy the journey.
Things have been busy so we’ll get right into it. We want to thank everybody who came out and
spent the day sweating, singing and pumping their fists in the air at the “Let’s
Start A Riot” video. We had an absolute
blast and we hope you did too. So be
expecting an update in the near future telling you all about how to vote for
it, where to see it and all that good stuff.
For those of you who weren’t there, we’re dying for you to see it!
Aside from that, we head out for a couple of shows this week
with none other than Punk Rock Karaoke!
Yeah, that’s Eric Melvin (NOFX), Greg Heton (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks),
Derek O'Brian (Social Distrotion, DI, Agent Orange), Steve Sotto (Adolescents,
Agent Orange) and YOU. So Montreal
(Wednesday) and Toronto (Thursday) get ready for some special covers from us
and be prepared to join the stage with punk rock’s most notorious elite. More info here:

Finally, as you may or may not know we’ll be back out on
tour across Canada with Massachusets’ A Wilhelm Scream and Virginia’s The Riot
Before. The Wilhelm dudes are some
ultimate pals who have some ridiculous tour videos up on their Myspace
page. I look forward to starring in their next
series. The Riot Before are out in
support of their kick-ass full-length “Fists Buried In Pockets” and I think it’s
their first time up through Canada, let’s show them a good time, no?? All of the dates are up on the Myspace and
are being updated every week so keep checking back. The tour starts in our favourite place on
earth, St. Catherines, on September 23rd. Expect some new merch and a crazy-ass show!
So that’s it for now, hope to see you all at some of the
upcoming shows!
Thanks for taking the time,
Dean / The Artist Life
PS - Everyone go pick up Polar Bear Club’s new record “Chasing
Hamburg” tomorrow, it rips! Favourite
