So we got together for practice on Tuesday ready for the gig last night with Starry Wisdom in Perth. It's hard to believe that 6 months has gone by since our last gig! 6 months! OK, so much has happened in that time and somewhere in the mix there was a wedding, new jobs and lots of recording going on, so it's not unreasonable I suppose.
Last night was a gentle and very positive slide back into being a performing band and it was an excellent reminder for me of why I do this. Mucky's is well known as a live music venue and it was so good to meet people who were simply there to check out the bands. They didn't know any of us and I'm relieved to say they stayed :)
Starry Wisdom have been around for about the same length of time as Maya29 and they have developed a good and supportive audience in Perth and it was good to see them there last night.
Joe was up for the weekend taking special care of Nick, so she was there too and all in all it was an excellent kick start to getting the gigging boots on again.
The aim is to play twice each month to keep existing material shiny and in the practice room we will work on getting the new material tight.
Hope your 2009 has started well too and see you at a gig sometime somewhere x
