I had such fun this weekend.
The groovy folks of Philby Fest on Saturday soothed my soul. Sunday, the music continued for me as I went to see Don play with Pam & The SG's up at the balloon festival in Auburn, then later stopped into Pepper's jam on our way home.
A list:
I saw two HOT sets by Pam Baker & The SG's. They were smokin'!!
I got to play two HOT Ice Waters Band sets... I.C. took a left turn at Bray's last night and I'm not sure if he ever came back, but that was okay by me. because I was skipping down a chocolate and icing covered path, sweet.
I got to play a set with the charming TRAILER TRASH at Philby Fest... broken strings flying just past my face, beer cans flowing all over the place.. What a rocking ship of Fools! I loved it, and I love Paul & Ellen.
I got to see THE INTERGALACTIC YURT BAND perform!! Those guys and gals are the greatest.. Another charming band. I'm smitten.
I got to try out Karen's bass, who I call Blondie, at the late night jam session (part 1). Thanks Karen, that was worth a shot. Luckily, their were TWO other double bassers playing at the same time!
And Ronda was it? Of Kevin and Ronda of Peaks Island? HOLY SHIT what a singer! I've got to look them up on myspace and go see them play in Portland..
Last night I got to borrow Gerry's (or is it Jerry?), of the Underachievers band, wicked cool big gibson type guitar. It's fun to break out of Strat comfort zone now and then! Thanks Gerry/Jerry very much.
And watching Pepper and Krister play those two Hungarian Rock songs with the adorable Hungarian camp kids? Well that was the perfect capper for a delightful weekend.
(jess, i wish you could have seen that!)
