Well it's at least a tiny bit better than you parent not caring at all no? Alice you are seriously NOT stupid, moms can sometimes mess up....sometimes they have good reseaons...pms...or getting fired or something but really it's all what you see in yourself, as long as you know your smart it really shouldn't matter what other say.
