It turn out well in the end but so much drama before the show: Arrived at Beirut airport to discover that air france lost my bag while connecting in Paris. Luggage that had my clothes for performing. The hotel was a lovely 5 star mega-complex but way too far from the studio. With no clothes, I had to wear what the studio wardrobe had in stock. The show features upcoming artist who they train and in the final episode, ala American Idol a winner is voted as winner. I performed the current hit version of "Break 4 Love" with David Vendetta on CDJs (unplugged). Two contestants performed with me. It was weird singing the song for the first time with two other people. They were trying to harmonize their parts which was admirable but not effective. Without rehearsal time, I couldn fix that and since it was live, I didn't know how to tell them to stop without being obvious.

Later in the show I also did "Show Them Love" which had been no.1 in Lebanon a few weeks earlier. I'm proud to say it's a little anthem over there now and growing in the region. Again the two contestants tried their best but one dude just tried too hard to be soulful and it was not pleasant. Unfortunately, You cansee the discomfort on my face (I'm obviously not a good actor). As the ear piece fell out of my ears, I lost a sense of monitoring and wound up yelling instead of sing as well.
Overall, it was a good experience and great exposure for the song.

I'll be checking for reaction and hopefully any boost in sales.
Thanks to all who made it possible and the fans who watched and enjoyed it.

Good lessons learned for next time; carry on bag, rehearsal, keep a smile on your face. ;-)

Hi Keith, I should have told you that Air France is famous for that - especially at Charles de Gaules airport.
secret rule : CDG, less than two or three hours between the flies= loss off baggage ;)
but I..m happy that you could solve that situation and you had a good time :)

after watching the videos I must say a very good performance anyway! how many singers from our scene have the cahnce to perform on any tv shows worldwide? great! yes, you..re right the singer was trying too soulful for that track - he was trying to expose himself. but the technician could have also brought his voice down in the mix. so if you need a better mixer next time - I..m available ;)

yeah, when your young and hungry you do try to get the spot light. But all those runs and falsetto stuff was so wrong as well as harmonizing on those tracks. What could I do? It was live and I just had to do my thing and be supportive; it's their audience and I'm just a guest.
;-)

thanks for the support and now I know about Air France. I'll spread the word until they apologize and make it up to me.
