Album Review on Indie MP3One of the livelier bands around right now , if not the liveliest,
are Liverpool’s Town Bike who don’t fail to impress with their fun
packed shows.
They dress in personalised bowling shirts and sound like The
Ramones. Hell they could well be the forgotten offspring of Helen
Love’s Debbie and Joey for all I know. The band have now released their
début full length and it sounds exactly like their live shows which of
course to these ears is brilliant.
The band consist of – well I will let them tell you themselves on Town Bike Show.
It’s a recurring theme as they stick two fingers up to their detractors
by singing about the band they are in and what have these losers got
compared to them especially as they have nicked Yr Boyfriend.
Previous single Bad Girls is here too with Sarah singing
about what a great girlfriend she is despite being unfaithful. In fact
she is one bad ass all round and is happy to tell that to one and all.
Sadly their ode to McFly’s Dougie doesn’t appear but it’s soon
forgotten as the winning pop tunes fly in thick and fast. Don’t expect
much variety in sound as they point out on Three Chords Three Notes but the harmonies, vocals and amusing lyrics give this collection of shouty punk pop songs a strike in one!
