Well kids, here we are. A long time has passed since we last updated you all on the comings and goings of the Wagen, and a lot has happened in that time. Where do we begin???

First, it is with regrets that we must inform you that Derek D-Rok Hammond is no longer with the group. His family and professional commitments take precedence, and of course, we wish him all the best. He remains a great friend to all of us. So that brings us to the question of who will play drums for CrackWagen. In an odd and surprising turn of events, none other than your very own 4-string bandit Al G$ has stepped up (or back, as it were) and made the switch to drums, albeit his approach to drumming will be a very pleasant and unusual departure from what you would normally expect from a metal band. But, we are all about testing limits at this point in our lives, so why not start there (there is plenty more to come, let me assure you!)? I guess that means we are in the market for a seasoned bass player (why is it always the bass player?!) who shares our musical tastes and philosophies. Being an old fart (like the rest of us) probably wouldn't be a bad idea. We don't want too many young whippersnappers doing herkies 4 feet off the ground while the rest of us break our hips. So, if you or anybody you know wants to be a part of the beauty that is CrackWagen, please do contact us as soon as possible. We hope to hear from you all!

So that brings us to our progress in writing and recording. While we did spend a bunch of time with new ideas in 2006, we have scrapped everything and are going back to square one. The goal is to bring a different approach to our brand of metal, and we decided that we should not be shy about including the myriad other influences we all bring to the table. So, in a few months when you taste some new CrackWagen, it should have a little bit of spiciness from other genres and eras. A veritable stew of chunk, you could say (YUM!).

Updates will certainly come more frequently, particularly since there is actually a lot of positive activity. Remember, if you wanna play bass, dig weirdo metal, and you have conscious memories of the Reagan administration, you just might be a good fit for us. Keep it real.
