THE TRAVELLING BAND
Glastonbury starlets 'The Travelling Band' produce an inventive brand of guitar-laden country folk pop with a cosmic aesthetic and sprinkles of trademark Manchester's musical lineage.
These Mancunians aren't the first to take up the folk baton, but country is a somewhat lesser influence on the Manchester scene.
Comparisons can be found with the likes of fellow northerners Alfie and Elbow.
Apparently live is where the band feel most at home and as such they were this years winners of the Glastonbury New Talent 2008, like Oxford band The Epstein last year, and you may have seen them perform with The Epstein and Stornoway at the JDP this Summer.
First album "Under the Pavement" is out now, a gentle dose of wistful psychedelia, which answers all those asking what the fuss is about.
