Greetings LolliLovers!

Exciting news on the video front.  I promised there'd be a new, exciting way to see LolliLove, and now it's here.  LolliLove is now available for download through Amazon's new "Unbox" feature!  That means you can now download the movie directly to your computer, TiVo, or portable device.  You can choose to either 'rent' it for $2.99 (you get it for 30 days, but it expires 24 hours after you press 'play'), or download it to own for $9.99 (the download never expires).  If, after buying it and watching it, you don't want to eat up all that space on your hard drive, you can delete it.  Amazon keeps track of your purchases.  Just log back in anytime you want, and you can re-download it for free.

For more details about the Amazon Unbox feature (and the LolliLove VOD) click here.

Also, for XBox Live users, the movie is now going online for download directly to your game console.  Once you download it from XBox (or Vongo or VuDu), you can watch it on your home TV set!  It should also be available for Instant viewing on Netflix pretty soon.

Some of these features are technically only available in North America right now, but some of you know how to get around that.  Me?  I'm a tech idiot.

I've been pushing hard to make our little movie available in a truly 21st century format for some time, and now they've finally done it. Please check out the cool new way to watch movies...otherwise Lloyd Kaufman will point at me and laugh, and I'll have to go back into therapy.

Congratulations! You've done a fine job.

I've been looking forward to this for a long time.

But I won't download anything until the WGA strike is settled. How much out of that $2.99 or $9.99 goes to the writers, again?

And hey, residuals DO work. My Dad just received a check for $300 for video sales in Europe. Mostly for a movie he wrote in 1961 called “The Steel Claw.” Whoopee!

Good luck to EVERYONE. Anyone taking bets on when this strike will end?

Peace!

Hey JD,

Thanks for bringing that up! Actually, because we worked outside of the Hollywod system on LolliLove, our writers get a much bigger piece of the pie than the WGA folks are getting right now.

We're HUGE supporters of the strike for many reasons. As you can see from what we're doing here, VOD (Video On Demand) is the real future of videos, and writers (and the other creative artists) deserve a fair share. In 8 or 9 years, you'll be talking about DVDs the way we talk about 8-track tapes now.

Not saying this just to hype our own sales, but when you participate in VODs now, you're actually helping to reinforce the WGA's argument, that this IS a big deal.

Yes, "LolliLove" is correct. In this instances, the writers of the movie are also the owners of the rights (along with Troma), so we make a very large percentage of every download sold.

If I had an XBox or an un-crappy computer, I'd be there!

Alas...

We can hope for Christmas (or "holiday") presents though, right? :)
