So yeah, on my FACEBOOK page one friend asked me to list 6 albums that influenced me deeply, I made a list of 12, (o.k. really 13) and then responding to another friends request to list my Top 30 albums, I started with the first list and then filled in others that could have perhaps just as easily made the first list.

(if you want to be friends on FACEBOOK but do not know my human name just ask :)
also if you are friends with me I also have a personal page where I may be more likely to read a Bulletin, I never check Bulletins here on my Music page, sorry, ... the other page is simply called Sonic elf )

here goes:

These albums influenced and shaped me as a so-called musician, as there are 12 here, (well 13 really I took in both of Barrett’s albums at the same time so I count them as one) it was REALLY hard to limit myself, but all of the albums below all blew me away and they,..uh. continue to blow me (heh heh) the initial discovery was always accompanied by the thought “Wait-a-minute, Music can Do this?!?!?!?”
The only really recent album on here is Panda Bear’s “Person Pitch” which I just love with all my heart!

Are We Not Men? - Devo

Discipline - King Crimson

The Madcap Laughs & Barrett- Syd Barrett

White Album - The Beatles

One Size Fits All - Frank Zappa

Bee Thousand - Guided By Voices

Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares

Person Pitch - Panda Bear

part 2 (for the 30 Great Albums question, I am not going to pretend they are “THE TOP 30” but to me they are sacred)

Trust - Elvis Costello & the Attractions

Trompe Le Monde - The Pixies

Evening Star - Fripp & Eno

The Fun Boy Three - (self-titled first album)

Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars - David Bowie

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? - Black Uhuru

London Calling - The Clash

Sister - Sonic Youth

Dirk Wears White Socks - Adam Ant

Rei Momo - David Byrne (& Naked - Talking Heads (cheating here again w/ 2 for 1))

A Scandal In Bohemia - Jazz Butcher

The Kink Kontroversy - The Kinks (The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society is a masterpiece,... so hard to choose just one)

From The Roots - The Maytals
