STREETS OF FIRE

Formed by Rocky Catanese (Guitar, Vocals) and Mike Drew (Guitar), STREETS OF FIRE originated as a continuation of songs the two had begun writing following the dispersal of their former band. They were later joined by Steve Demaio (Drums, Bkg Vocals); and Chris Scacco (Bass).


"We are really excited that we finally conned Joe into make us a part of Silent Movie," said Vocalist Rocky Catanese, "after playing around with various friends and bands, I've become more and more passionate about my collaboration with Mike and the guys, and now having Silent Movie involved makes it even better.
"

Written by Rocky and Mike in 2007-08, the songs that became THE GHOST EP were later brought to life with the help of producer/engineer Steve Demaio. Steve later joined as their full time drummer and the band was rounded out with Chris Scacco on bass. The EP also features Gregory Scalera, formerly of Moraine, playing keys. THE GHOST EP (Produced by R. Catanese, M. Drew, and S. Demaio) will be released digitally on DECEMBER 16, 2008 by SILENT MOVIE RECORDS.


You can catch the band playing regularly, in-and-around their hometown of New Brunswick, NJ with plans of touring in the future.


Playing their first show with longtime friends and fans in Hit The Lights - the members and their previous acts have played and toured with acts such as Houston Calls, The Pilot, This Providence, Paramore, and Motion City Soundtrack as well as performing on dates of the Vans Warped Tour and Skate & Surf Festivals prior to the formation of the band, carrying over a loyal fan base anticipating new material.


Toledo, OH-based SILENT MOVIE RECORDS has made its name by housing such acts as Hit The Lights, My Favorite Highway, The Weakend, Rushmore Academy and I Am The Pilot, and is confident in adding STREETS OF FIRE to their respected roster.


"Silent Movie Records couldn't be happier to be able to work with everyone in Streets of Fire," says label owner Joe Lemble, "we believe [The Ghost EP is] an excellent introduction of what we know the band is capable of." He adds, "I've always loved Rocky and Mike's natural talent in writing and producing songs chocked full of catchy choruses, excellent instrumentation, and an ability to adapt the feelings and emotions conveyed in the songs as if they were the song-listeners alone.
