Current mood:  adventurous
Here’s the story. My partner and I have been working on a film for two and a half years now. Originally it was our journey to Kurdistan to see the Constitutional Referendum take place. The film turned out good, and we had interest from a TV Channel and one of the board members at the International Documentary Association said it was one of the best docs he saw that year out of 1000 he had seen.

BUT - it wasn’t finished. Now we know how to finish it. We needed to show the whole Kurdish experience and we are on our way to doing that. I taught a film workshop in southern Kurdistan last summer and filmed that. Simone went to Diyarbakir for Nerouz. Those are all parts of the story.

We have gotten interest from the top festivals finally as they are starting to realize that the Kurdish situation is an important one. As important as Darfur, Tibet or any other people who have been denied their cultural freedom.

IF you know of any funding possibilities to finish our film all the way, grants especially, send them our way.

We have transportation, food and lodging for on more trip back to Kurdistan but we need stipends for our crew, some more equipment and a top editor to pull it all together.

Let us know your ideas. (There is also a donation button on the front of the page but we know this is a cautious time for most people.) Tell your friends. Add a link to our page.

There have been multiple films about other countries and their plights, its time now for people to know more about the Kurds.
