"Hey I rapped on this, it's amazing and you should go buy it today"

lol...here's a special story about this project:

BK-One deejayed for me in 2008 on the Truth Is Here Tour w/ Brother Ali. He's Ali's dj but he was nice enough to work with me then as well because Drez couldn't go. So earlier this year when he approached me about getting Haiku d'etat on his Radio do Canibal record he was doing, I was like hell yeah - I'm down. This man is a genuine soul who cares about the art of it all so for me I knew it would come out sick, it was just a question of organizing the timing of when we would record. Fast forward to Soundset 09 - I managed to sneak Haiku on that lineup, and of all people Acey got the ball rolling with his 1st verse the nite b4 Soundset cracked. Admittedly, it took me way longer to finish my verse after Myka later laid his at his pad in Santa Monica, CA. They both killed it so I wanted to take my time with it.

In the meantime, I did that Content Under Pressure event with Kevin Beachum up in MPLS. As fate would have it I was paired up w/ Twin City producer Benzilla to create our "on the spot" track. That's when I found out he was co-producing the Radio do Canibal lp with BK.

So I finally got my verse finished and sent it in - the rest is history. For all 3 of us recording in separate places - it came out pretty dope don't ya think? Pre-cursor to a new Haiku record even!
