A few of you commented on the cell phone picture of the crime scene tape up around my son's school the day the new school year started. I guess I should explain!

No crime occurred (as far as I know). They put it up last year because of our son. They wanted to keep the news crews across the street and off of school property. Honestly, I haven't got a clue why its up this year.

The news interest has died down since we won our case in federal court earlier this year. If you don't know what I'm talking about (lucky you!) just google "Arocha vs. Needville ISD".

Anyway, his first day of first grade went well and he is loving school. I suppose I should let you know that the school district is appealing the ruling. Who knows why. The 5th Circuit Court of appeals is our next destination but no word yet on when or if that will be.

So yeah, I don't know why they felt the need to bring back the crime scene tape this year. No news crews showed up and it seemed like a pretty normal first day (and it was still there on day 2). I feel like it is a physical reminder that we're not wanted. Oh well. I love the USA and the constitution. Yay freedom!

I just read an article about your suit.. I cant begin to describe how frustrated even I, a stranger, a mere on-looker, am. It is a dispicable act what they did to your son last year! I am a mother to and dont know that I could be as brave as you, your son and husband are. KUDDOS!

I applaud you on your victory and you determination to pass along the core values of freedom, religious and artistic expression.  I feel that the most important thing we can for for "the children" is leave them a free country.
