If a person is blind from birth, when they go to sleep at night what do they "see" when they dream? If they ingested hallocingenic drugs what would they see in their mind's eye?

I Googled it.  There looks to be alot of info.  People seem to think that blind people from birth dream, just not the way we do.  One person said their brains never develop the picture processing factory (technical term).  So, they don't dream in pictures, but with their other senses.  They probably gather more vivid details from what they hear, taste, touch, and smell.  That would make for a wild trip.  =P

This idea occured to me the other night when I was showering, I got soap in my eyes and was rubbing my eyes to get it out. You know when you have your eyes closed shut real hard and you rub them for a while you start to see all kinds of little shapes and colors. Can blind people "see" these same things or is this just the optic nerve firing up these different images? This is how I got to wondering about what blind people see in their dreams. I did google it and read some about it but it still seems like a strange thing. If our mental health is partly based in our dreaming does this difference in sighted and blind dreams have different affect on the mental health of these people? Would it alter their state of mind not having the ability to have visual dreams.

Oh, and this question was asked on the American Foundation for the Blind Message Board in 2006 and has 4 mediocre answers.
