Less of me and more of You

 

I find myself on a daily basis saying this over and over again.  Less of this world and more of you Jesus, I may never understand what takes place in my spirit but something changes.  The Atmosphere moves, heaven notices earth and invades a tiny vessel that acknowledges such an idea.

Some would suggest such a prayer is meaningless and since salvation is secure and I don't need to change beyond who I am from the alter experience when I first confessed Christ as Lord. I'm reminded daily that I need him, more than yesterday, more than myself and what he's given me.  In our religious society lived and built on "living life well" there's never any longing for more of God,  nor does the church as a whole present such an idea for believers to grasp and appreciate. Where is the vision for such an idea? believing such a prayer may not always lend you a life that's comfortable and passive.  This not a roller coaster prayer so you can watch life as it passes you by.  Something more, something pure, something deep from the heart.
