Hi everybody,

Well due to the overwheling responce to the song The Prodigy.I thought I would give you some insight on how that song came to be...Ya know the story behind it..Well it all started a while ago..About 2002.The early part of that year.I practice guitar long hours of the day.Coming up with stuff and practicing my soloing and things.Well one of these times I started coming up with this riff.It is a Badd119 (for the guitar heads)..lol..And I liked the sound of it so I decided to record it on this little tape recorder I have. Where when I get a moment of inspiration I record it.And it is this real cheap tape recorder by the way..lol..So that was all I had to it at the time..So I forgot about for a while. Then in like November 2004 I came up with another riff. And I liked the sound of so I recorded it the same way.And then it just came to me after that.I finished up all the structure of the song put a heavy guitar part in the middle where the guitar solo is.And I put a band together after that with a incredible drummer James Ulman and a amazing bass player and producer Alonza Malcom.Well I strated recording my demo of original songs at his Studio.Alonza is this incredible Virtuoso bass player Like Stanley Clarke. And he was also the Producer of my songs and my record coming out soon!! So we started the recording sessions in Jan.2005..and it went to April..The last song out of the 3..Was the Prodigy.Origianly it was 15 mins. long..And Alonza who goes by AL..kept saying "Dude you have to keep in under 5 mins..it just kills that song" So I decided to take his advice as my producer. And I shortend it to 5 mins..Me James and AL. Did like 8 takes of it just guitar, bass, and drums. And the last one worked. So after that I wanted to put a real creative keyboard part to it.And Al called in a Amazing keyboard player Jetton Barnes. And he played the organ on it.And I had some strings put on it later by another Keyboard player named Steve Scott. Then I added a Sitar to it.Then the Final part was the melody.I just listened to it and played it in 1 take including the solo with my white Ibanez and my Carvin MTS 3200 amplifier. Then that was it.It is a real emotional song for me.For me it was just about my life story. But I hope to all of you. You apply it to your own life. You can use it for inspiration in your life. When your feeling down or need something to lift you up.The song is about hope.Well I enjoyed telling you all a little about myself. Please keep in touch all of you.I'am so proud to be all of your friends..Thanks so much..

Like I had said in your comments yesterday

there is something about that song that really

gets me. I don't know exactly what it is, but

it's like I can feel the emotion, and energy that you

were feeling when you were doing that song. Aside

from the fact that it touches my heart deeply.

Lots of Love,

RAVEN

You know Anthony, for us mere mortals hearing the story behind such a powerful melody is truly magical.  I could just imagine the melody of "The Prodigy" pouring out of you.  Only the most talented musicians can use their instrument to touch one's soul.

that is great. I really do love that song. It helps me when I'm depressed. I could listen to that song over and over and over again. And now that I know the story behind it, it makes more sense to me. It makes me love it even more. Keep up the awesome work.

My band had the extreme pleasure of opening with Anthny at Birdy's on April 30. All I can tell you is Anthony is an exceptional musician. He is a master showman, and has a guitar style that no one can match. We look forward to our next show with him and his Group. If you haven't seen him play you are DEFINITELY missing out!

Keep after it my friend, and thank you for letting us be part of the action!

Al was correct, Anthony. It is just right for the ear and exactly on cue for the great guitar solo. Great playback also!

I can only peck at a guitar, But my virtuoso gift, is listening with my spirit.

Thanks for the experience, guyz!

Brings me back to the first time I heard "the Prodigy". WONDERFUL piece of music. It inspired me to start writing again back in 2007 and now I am out-of-control writing stuff. Thanks for the boost then and I am glad to be back writing again...
