Clementine update: she is doing excellent! She got her stitches out today, and has gained 1 pound and 1 oz since last week. Her white blood cells are returning to normal (which is around 16000 - before her surgery, they were an astronomical 98000!) and her red blood cells are reproducing nicely. She is still slightly anemic, but the vet said that the rate her red blood cells are reproducing, that should clear itself up soon. Here is a photo of her, taken about 20 minutes ago. She has seen her stitch-free belly and wonders, "Rats...where did my built-in toy go?"

In other news, I have LOTS of photos to put online but haven't had the drive to edit them and put them on Flickr. I am feeling more motivated this week so maybe this weekend I will spend some time with the ol' Mac here and finally put the Christmas photos, Okoboji fog photos, and Raw Mojo CD release party photos online.

Speaking of Raw Mojo, come on out to the Picador on Friday for their *official* CD release party! The album rocks, and I did all the photography for the album - cover, liner notes, etc. I will of course be there, this time videotaping the show instead of running the merch booth like I did last weekend.

I have to add this last little bit: I am currently reading Mark Oliver Everett (aka E from the EELS)'s memoir, called "Things the Grandchildren Should Know." I'm almost finished with it, but I don't want to be. It's a really beautiful book. As many of you know, I have harbored a pretty wicked crush on E for about 10 years now. This book is only adding to it. It's completely entertaining, but also sad because his whole family died. I am most fascinated to learn what most of the EELS songs were written about, or if I already knew that, then how they simply came to be. If you're a fan of the EELS or just like good memoirs by rock stars, grab this book. It's a fast read, and is wonderful. Hugs from me to E for writing such a great book.
