In Chuck's own words:

In the picture, sunspots, which also affect Earth's weather patterns,
are shown against our radiating star whose trapped rays warm oceans
that seed unsettling forecasts. Causing what's commonly referred to as
the "greenhouse effect," gaseous by-products from an increasingly
demanding and urban civilization weaken the planet's natural "heat
shield" (ozone). Depicted further are the molecular structures of the
seven most damaging gases: Perfluoromethane (CF4), Sulfurhexafluoride
(SF6), HCFC-22 (CHClF2), CFC-12 (CCl2F2), Nitrous Oxide (N20), Methane
(CH4) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Of course, I won't remember the names
and molecular structures of these greenhouse gases but I will remember
that a category 5 named "Wilma" put three feet of Gulf water in what
would've been my hotel lobby four days before I was supposed to check
in.
