Howdy Y'all,
Well it's finally time to kick this puppy into high gear. I'm totally excited to be able to announce the date for the release of my album, How Country.
On Dec. 11th at the iconic Hill Country music joint Poodie's Hilltop, we're gonna have a CD Release Party that is worthy of that title. Much more than just a gig with some CDs for sale, this is gonna be an all-star affair with some of my amazingly talented friends on hand to play for you and hang out with us on what is one of the most anticipated nights for me ever.
Tentatively penciled in to appear that night are Tres Womack, Mike Ethan Messick, Michael Wren, Steven Franks, Jedi Acoustica, Brigitte London, Brian Winfield, Austin Mayse, Tombstone Bullies (Michael and Gabrielle), Andrea Marie, John Fink, Allen Parker and more. Gordon Ames, the one and only Big G, host of the Texas Roadshow, will be on hand to emcee the evening. Plus we may have a few surprises up our sleeve for that night.
We're gonna kick things off around 7. I just spoke to the folks at Poodie's and they agreed to waive the cover at the door so it'll be a free event. Plus, the good folks and friends at Poodie's are going to provide a big spread of food for free for all our guests!
This is shaping up to be the biggest party of the holiday season. Clear your calendars now, put in for a day off work, come hungry, thirsty and ready to see some great performances and have a ridiculously good time.
Oh yeah, the Mark Allan Atwood Band will be there too. ;-) We'll play the album in it's entirety and, if we're lucky, will feature guest performances from some of the incredible pickers who made the record what it is with their talent on the tunes they played on.
Also, since the holiday season typically empties local food banks of their supplies, anyone who brings two cans (or two boxed dinners, Hamburger Helper, etc.) will be able to purchase the album for $5 below regular price. The food we gather will go the the food bank here in my small town, Burnet, whose supplies have been hit very hard by storms and the economy.
You will not wanna miss this. See ya there!
