Hello our most precious myspace friends.

Our Album of songs from the second season of the show will be released on the 20th of October. We know, we know, it's been ages and it's still ages away. Yet again, compared to stalagmite formation it was actually pretty quick and none of you hassle caves.

Why did it take so long to put out this album? Why are we asking you? You don't know.

You're wondering if it will have any treats, like free stickers. Well, it will have one free sticker. You're wondering if it will have two hundred free badges. No it won't, but it might have four free badges (American translation: buttons). It will also have a lyric booklet with all of the accompanying chords for the songs so you can stage a concert for your parents and perform Too Many Dicks On The Dancefloor, You Don't Have To Be A Prostitute and many, many more.

We have entitled this collection of songs "I Told You I Was Freaky".
Here are the tracks:

    Hurt Feelings
    Sugalumps
We’re Both in Love with a Sexy Lady
I Told You I Was Freaky
    Demon Woman
Rambling Through the Avenues of Time
    Fashion Is Danger
    Petrov, Yelyena and Me
Too Many Dicks (On the Dance Floor)
You Don’t Have to Be a Prostitute
    Friends
    Carol Brown
    Angels

Stalamite formation!  Great. No, I'm not upset about the late date - that's how it goes in the recording industry. I'm more upset that it coincides with another drop date of two cd's from a band that hasn't released in years. Oh the dilemma.

Look forward to hearing the new cd and good luck (or break a leg) at the Emmys.

I missed you guys! Even though I don't know you!

I am particularly looking forward to the chord booklet. You should sell the chords & lyrics to your other songs. I can't get Bowie right.

I hope you keep doing FOTC stuff. I think you should do a movie version of the show. It would be great to see Bret played by Brad Pitt and Jemaine played by George Clooney! You could get Soderberg to direct, he knows those guys anyway. And bring Arnold Schwazzenneger back to play Murray, for some real star power!

I really love your work. I haven't liked a comedy show this much since SCTV. Which you should watch, BTW. Here is a tiny taste: Rick Moranis as Gerry Todd and Tom Monroe's De Doo Doo Doo

...speaking of stalagmites... Here in the DC/VA area, we have Luray Caverns, with lovely stalagmite formations. It supposedly has the largest musical instrument in the world, an organ that plays actual music on the stalagmites. I'll bet you and Bret could make some funky music on that. I just hope you wouldn't play some beats on said stalagmites and... Oops! Now that would be some real rock music. Sorry. Well, thanks for the album. I know it is well worth the wait. Congrats.   Thanks for the extras. Photobucket

Also, I'm guessing that Bret & Jemaine's cut from amazon is a lot smaller that if it's ordered from subpop/their own distributor.

I don't particularly trust Amazon with fancy die-cut LP's.  Most of the albums I buy, there's an official pre-order from the label/distributor/artist, rather than waiting for amazon to get the ones that they're gonna get, and then ship it to me, later than I could buy it from a local record store.

Yay!  Just what my mother always wanted!

But you can't imagine my glee when I insist that my young son learn the chords so I can accompany him by singing rather loudly and certainly off-key to all my fave FotC songs while he rolls his pre-teen eyes at me with embarassment.

♥

Love, Me.

Well rest assured I'll definitley by the album! But I wish I'd known this a few days ago! I just got a new laptop and had to re-start my i-tunes again, meaning I bought 8 of the singles from season 2 I already have "Angels" and "Petrov, Yelyena, and Me" on the "Folk The World Tour" album (granted they're are different versions) are you going to release it on i-tunes as well? I may bie up the remaining songs and get the album cheaper, but I'll still by a physical copy because that's how I am :0). Anyway I don't mind cause I know I'll be supporting you.
 Hope all is well!
 Love ya lots!

Oh Jemaine, I forgot to ask you;

Is this album mixed differently from the Season 2 songs that were available from iTunes after each week's broadcast?

Thanks...

I know!!!  I got the Season 1 Songbook and some of the chords just don't translate so easily to the ukulele.  I hope Season 2 songs are uke-friendly.  The OIUO needs to have a Flight of the Conchords Tribute Concert where we play your songs, only better.   Thanks for the heads up!!

Somethin' tells me that "You Don't Have To Be A Prostitute" translates well to the uke.  I should play that for my sister on her birthday.

...Was that out loud?

Brilliant !   Hope it's okay with you that I slightly changed one song.  When my dogs get super excited after hearing the word "outside" and entangle me in their frenzied jumping and dog twirling, I sing to them, "Too Many Dogs on the Dance Floor".  Doesn't help the confusion much, but I feel better.

October 20th, my money is yours! I'm definitely looking forward to blasting the title track in my car (and anywhere else I am allowed to do so). I am sad to see that Love is a Weapon of Choice didn't make the cut. :( Maybe it will turn up as a B-side someday? While I find it very generous of you to include the chords to your songs, I really think you should make people learn them by ear. It's good exercise.
