In case you were wondering who we're constantly listening to around here at Ovipositor HQ, the answer is The Blind Shake. They're on the stereo with alarming regularity - not just because we're too lazy to put another record on, but because they're an amazing band. Between their own material and their recordings with Michael Yonkers, there's a pretty stellar catalog that's been assembled quickly and efficiently. They've also had the good sense to work with Amy Jo for several posters and packaging, and she's one of the keenest designers going.

It would be fair to say we hold this band in exceptionally high regard. That's why we're excited to announce that we'll be playing with them August 6th at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. I have been told by those in the know that as great as they are on record, they're even better live. I'm looking forward to finding out.

The local troubadours known as Bike Fight will be opening the show, and we'll be closing it. Makes for a nice little Blind Shake sandwich there.
