Arkady Marto and Dietmar Bonnen know each other from concerts with the Russian ENSEBLE 4’33 in Moscow. In 2008 they decided on sending each other parts of music for a piece they are working unite on by contributing additional tracks.

Marto sent drones, sounds and programmed electronic soundscapes, Bonnen sent recordings of acoustic piano, sometimes played on prepared instruments in the manner of John Cage, others electronically modified, forwards, backwards, etc., sometimes even only knocked inside the piano.

From these musical chain letters developed the compositions of this cd. The common interest of both is focused on smallest changes in sound and on dissolving the recognisability of the sound’s origins.

Do the electronics change the piano sound? Does the piano trigger the electronic sounds? Can we only hear the resulting sounds maybe, but not the different catalysts in the final mix? Maybe you are going to find out!
