Kate Winslet for The Reader, in a very tight competition with Meryl Streep
Best Supporting Actor:
Heath Ledger in Dark Knight
Best Supporting Actress:
Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, for a very humorousx and excellent performance. Other noteworthy performances are Marisa Tomei in The Wrestler, Amy Adams in Doubt.
