Current mood:  betrayed
You are no longer a patriotic beer, therefore I can no longer drink you. Ever.

I welcome new local beers, locally owned micro breweries, and the beer less travelled.

Anyone that has any suggestions on beers or breweries that I should try I would love to hear from you.

European company InBev purchased Anheuser Busch for 52 billion. Its no longer an "American Beer"

That's ok I am into mocro brews and beers for taste. Every dollar spent is a vote for the food system you want so I am voting for change.

I am mostly concerned that InBev will continue giving back to communities like Aneuser-Busch did. They should have bought General Motors instead... THEN I would have bought their product.

I recomend Firemans 4 by the <Pale Ale Brewing Company. > They also have many other fine beverages being brewed in Blanco, Texas.

Budweiser in my mind has always been a piss bear and most will continue to be one, so really I have no tears lost over this. There is a certain part of the beer isle where you just don't go past..

Since you are familiar with OR you should try (if you haven't already) Mirror Pond Pale Ale. It's by the Deschutes Brewing Co out of Bend OR: http://www. deschutesbrewery. com/Splash/default. aspx

It's a very hoppy bear with a floral note, and it's one of my top favs.

Some of my other NW favorites:

Mac and Jack (doesn't get bottled, only in bars, kegs and growlers from the brewery).

Redhook Brewing Co: They make a great ESB (my fav) as well as a few other notables like their blonde

If you like hefeweizen, try either Pyramid out of Seattle or Widmer Brothers out of Portland.

Another of my top 5 favorites is a beer called Manny's Pale Ale, out of Seattle. Similar in character to Mirror Pond.

And lastly, there's a small brewery down the street from my house called Diamond Knot. Not sure how far they send their beer out, but if you ever get a chance to try their IPA, it's the bomb. com

This should be a good start:)

Drink Coors Light ;)

Last time I was at Fox and Hound there was a drink special you could order whereby they provided shots of beer. In short, an assortment of mini draft beers for the tasting - you pick the beers. Although I quickly gave up (nothing is better than Coors), Tim and our company continued and tried a variety of beverages.

Maybe we could go to F&H one day, perhaps for family day? Or, the draft house has quite a few draft beers -we could go see The Notebook!

Check out Boulevard Brewery, out of Kansas City.
Still very patriotic! Their UWB (unfiltered wheat beer) is the greatest!

Made in Austin, for Austinites. You pass by them probably each time you drive to the airport. They open their brewery on the first Saturday of each month to give 3 free beers to each visitor.

Try the Bootlegger and the Amber. You can find them at almost any H-E-B grocery store.
