For about a year, I've been working, very irregularly, on a podcast called 18:59. My collaborator in the project is Michael Hearst, a very talented musician and member of the band One Ring Zero. Since we both are pretty busy it's rare that we get it together, but as of yesterday we managed to complete a big two-part episode, containing travel stories from Jonathan Ames, Nelly Reifler, Fiona Maazel, Ann Cooper, and others. You can find this podcast at the One Ring Zero website, which is thus: http://www.oneringzero.com/?page_id=52.
Or you can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes by going to the advanced "subscribe to podcast" prompt box there and laboriously pasting in first:
http://www.oneringzero.com/1859podcast4a.xml
And then:
http://www.oneringzero.com/1859podcast4b.xml.
Because it's two parts, see. We are not very good with xml. Anyway, for those who are not in the know, and there are a lot of you who are not, 18:59 derives its title from the amount of the bill at the Indian restaurant on the day on which we conceived of the project, and each episode is EXACTLY 18:59. Mike and I do all the editing, and I would say we did the writing, too, but there really isn't much writing. We just turn on the microphone and go. It's not exactly a high-tech operation.
Hope you enjoy it.
