I guess its no secret that I'm the only one who writes in this blog (or anywhere regularly on the internet). So I'm going to use this opportunity to shamelessly plug myself.

I'm playing my first solo gig on Tuesday 3rd March, in Kilburn, North London - at The Good Ship. It's under my Hello Loveless moniker that has been hiding away for some time...

I guess the obvious question is why I feel the need to do this... well, I love this band beyond belief - but its really frustrating sometimes to be in a band that is only active during university holidays - which are shortening at an alarming rate for us and getting increasingly difficult to co-ordinate. Also, despite being techincally the bassist (I offered to play bass as they couldnt find a bassist - back in November '05...), the guitar is my instrument... Sometime towards the start of last year, I started finger picking and wrote a load of music that would probably not work with the band... just little things that deserved to be left understated... and writing lots of really personal bits of words that I wanted to sing myself (but of course, Grace is a way better and more confident singer than me... she really can pull vocal melodies out of nowhere) ... anyway, so, this happened, I finally got it together, and I'm doing a gig and hopefully a lot more to follow.

As for the band... yes... we're making plans and hopefully they'll prove fruitful. It'd be a lot easier if non of us ever went anywhere outside the UK again but what can you do!
