Here it is, the Crüxshadows Fairy Schedule of Events! This is a list of activities happening during DragonCon that might be of interest to you guys, but it is not required that you attend any of them, aside from the initial meeting. The only thing required of you as a fairy is that you help pass out flyers for the Crüxshadows concert happening on Saturday night, but it's totally up to you which of the events listed below that you wish to participate in and/or attend :)
Friday
12:00 noon - Official Fairy Meeting. Wings are recommended, but not mandatory. Instructions, fairy badges and other goodies, and flyers will be given out. Location: Meet at the Crüxshadows merch table. (Marriott)
7:00 p.m. - panel w/ the band - Wishes, Mysteries, and Fallen Angels: An Hour with the Crüxshadows. The world of the Crüxshadows and what their plans are for the future. Location: Montreal/Vancouver (Hyatt) DFH
Saturday
9:30 a.m. - gather for DragonCon Parade in Woodruff Park (at Peachtree Street and Auburn Avenue about 4.5 blocks south of the Hyatt Regency front entrance). Parade starts at 10 a.m. *Registration for the parade is going to have to be done by our Fairy Captain, Stacia, in advance of the Con. We are going to register 50 fairies, as we are figuring that not everyone is going to want to wake up so early on Saturday morning. There will be a sign up sheet at the merch booth- if you would like to participate in the parade, make sure to sign up as soon as you can, in order to get on the list. Everyone who participates in the parade will be required by DragonCon to wear a parade participant ribbon. Make sure to get your ribbon when you sign the sheet. Fairies in the parade must be in costume.
4:00 p.m. - panel w/ Jessica - Wing and Things. The Fairy-folk return to demonstrate the magic of making beautiful fairy wings. Location: M103-M105 (Marriott)
8:00 p.m. - pre-req for contestants w/ Jessica (see below) - Dragon After Dark Assembly - The judges look over costumes, and help with those last minute repairs. REQUIRED for contestants. Location: M103-M105 (Marriott)
9:00 p.m. - Dragon After Dark Contest w/ Jessica. After hours contest that awards for the costumes that would not otherwise fit the family-friendly Sunday Night Masquerade. Nudity is not permitted. Location: Atrium Ballroom (Marriott)
12 midnight (technically Sunday) - Cruxshadows concert. Location: Centennial II-III(Hyatt) MAIN. Try to plan on arriving about 2 hours early, if possible. Jessica is going to try and arrange that the fairies be let into the Ballroom first, but unfortunately there is no way to do this and/or guarantee it in advance, though it's worked out for the last couple of years, so keep those fingers crossed! The line for the show usually starts forming at least a couple of hours before it, and the Ballroom has been filling to capacity over the last few years, so the sooner you can arrive, the better!
Sunday
7:00 p.m. - Thriller World record attempt. This is not related to the Crüxshadows at all, but it sure sounds like fun! Pre-registration for this event is required, as well as attendance at one or both of the two prior rehearsals in order to learn the moves. Check out www.dragonconthriller.com to download the form and get the rest of the details. Location: Grand Ballroom A-C (Sheraton) MAIN
2:00 p.m. - Fairy Lunch. More details will be discussed at the meeting.
4:00 p.m. (time is approximate - will take place after Fairy Lunch) - Fairy Photoshoot. Location will be determined closer to this time.
8:30 p.m. - panel w/ Rogue- Bleeding into the Mainstream. Location: Hanover C-E (Hyatt) MAIN
11:30 p.m. - panel w/ Jessica- Fetish and Flair. From Purgatory to House Parties, costuming has moved away from holidays and conventions and into mainstream lifestyles. Location: M103-M105 (Marriott)
Monday
1:00 p.m. - panel w/ Rogue - 200 years of Poe. Location: Montreal / Vancouver (Hyatt) DFH
