Roller Derby offers skating enthusiasts everywhere an opportunity to
watch live roller derby action in the heart of the city, at the Rhode
Island Convention Center, 1 Sabin St.
Wait…it gets better.
Providence Roller Derby is giving not
one, but TWO bouts, back to back. The night starts out when
Providence’s Killah Bees take on Western, Mass Destruction.
Providence’s Killah Bees have just returned from teaching newbie
league Roc City Roller Girls (Rochester, NY) how much it takes to
come out on top. On October 17, Bees all-star jammers, Rhoda
Perdition and Vicious Stylz will try to outscore the wiley
westerners. With the help of hard hitters like Robin Da Points and
Cindy Lou Screw you will be wondering Drew Barry-who? Don’t miss
watching Mass Destruction get destroyed!
Next up the Rhode Island Riveters will
bout against Connecticut’s Stepford Sabotage. At this season’s
2009 Eastern Regional Tournament the Riveters beat Connecticut by a
large margin, and they are ready to do it again in their hometown. It
has been a long season for the Riveters and this, their final bout of
the 2009 season, will be the most fun yet. Come cheer on your
favorite skaters!
Over the past year Providence Roller
Derby has made athletes out of attitude driven tough-girls. Watch
their transformation in action as Providence’s prized princesses
skate to music spun by Hang the DJ and a half-time performance by The
Prozacs.
