Hi All-
We just wanted to update you about all of the new happenings in the Anvil Chorus camp. We did win Best New Act from The Pitch...that was a ton of fun! Thank you so much for voting!
Brad and Byron have decided to take leave from the band, we wish them the best of luck with all of their future endevours. You can listen to Byrons band here:
The Dark Circles Although we are sad to see them go, Andy and I have continued to work on new material. We have had several offers from people who want to create with us. We expect auditions to begin next week, we are very specific about what we want and the process may take a while. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for drums or bass with Anvil Chorus, please send me an email. Before you do that though, please consider these few basic requirements:
Must posses a positive attitude
You need to be atleast 21
Be available for atleast two rehearsals a week
Be available to leave town for surrounding cities at least two weekends a month
Be able to leave for at least two weeks at a time for tour at least twice a year
Please do not apply if you are in more then one band
Please have experience playing on stage
Please have professional gear
No substance abuse issues
Please be in the KC area
Ok...that's more than enough for now. If you are interested, please contact me about getting materials to practice with. We will also be adding a keyboard/noise maker auxillary person.
Andy and I are very excited about the new opportunities that the new lineup presents....it will be hard work but a lot of fun too. We'll let you know when the new lineup is solidified. We will be keeping a lot of the songs that we already play as well as writing new ones. The sound will inevitably change but not too drastically, we're confident that we will retain you all as our fans.
Thank you so very much for your support!

p.s. Here's the old bio, I will write a new one soon.
Anvil Chorus formed during the first ever Kansas City Band Scramble. Anna Cole (Vox,piano), Brad Wicklander (Drums), Andrew Kirk (Guitar) and Chris VanWagner had their names drawn from a hat, introduced themselves to each other and started to write songs. This trend of writing music and playing shows continued for several months until VanWagner left the band. VanWagner was replaced by Byron Huhmann (bass) and Anvil Chorus picked up where it left off, writing new material and playing shows to an ever-growing and receptive audience. Anvil Chorus makes music that is simultaneously beautiful and unsettling. Pairing the haunting melody of Cole's vocals and piano with cranky outbursts of noisy art-rock, Anvil Chorus sounds both refreshingly mellow and right at home in the louder rock scene. Though never derivative, Anvil Chorus evokes shades of Blonde Redhead, Mogwai, Portishead, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth among numerous other influences. Their lush yet edgy sound is versatile enough to fit well with a wide range of billings. Their first EP will be available in August 2005
