So, Burke and I are leaving for Hawaii tomorrow. No, really!
I'm presenting at a conference in Honolulu. Yes, really!
It's the annual conference of the American Society for Engineering Education, which has a very active Engineering Libraries Division. I've got a poster presentation titled "The Hirsch Index of Scholarly Output: New Measure, Ongoing Debate" and I'm on a panel presentation about mentoring new engineering librarians (as in, wouldn't that be nice?).
Then Burke and I are heading to the Big Island, and winging it. Volcanoes and stuff. Probably safer than when I was in Ecuador with Susan, visiting one of those towns built on the slope of an active volcano... probably. Do they paint arrows in the streets, indicating which way to RUN LIKE HELL? That's what they did in Ecuador.
Hokay - back to packing. Miss my cat already.
