Hey everyone we are currently looking for a new bass player, if you play or know of anyone who does than you've come to the right place. We want someone who is serious and wants to do this for a living. Keep in mind we are being seriously looked at by a label so this would mean we will be practicing very often and hopefully tour soon in the future, but this is also a perfect oppurtunity for a lot of people. We would prefer a pure bass player who has their own equiptment, though if you are a guitarist and mesh well with us and understand the style we are going for than that could be a possibility. In order that we dont get several random messages just saying PICK ME!!! please copy these questions and fill them out then send them to us, if you are interested in trying out. 1. How old are you? 2. How long have you been playing? 3. Have you been in bands before? If so, which ones? 4. What equipment do you use? 5. Top 5 influences (bands)? 6. Where do you live? And, do you have a valid source of transportation? 7. Anything else that you could help contribute to the letter red? Either send it back to us as a message on this myspace or to theletterredband@yahoo.com thanks! -theletterred

Hahaha that's kinda funny, because frankly, we bassists are a dime to a dozen.

Depending on the pay and flexibility of the band:

1. How old are you? 17.5

2. How long have you been playing? 2 and a half years

3. Have you been in bands before? If so, which ones? HARBINGER, which has no myspace, no recorded music, and is the awesomest, laziest group of people I've ever hung around with.

4. What equipment do you use? Godin Freeway-5 4-string bass, with active PJ-style pickups and a nice wood finish. AKA Lilah. My amp is a 100-watt LA15 SWR, with a 15" speaker and 1" tweeter...not the best in terms of power, but it has some sexy tonability for being a 3-channel EQ. And my Boss ME-50B multi-effects is the cherry on top: basics of every effect, plus I'm looking to buy an RV-3 cuz I'd like a 2nd delay and a better 'verb. Did I mention that Lilah is my bass?

5. Top 5 influences (bands)? Something Like Silas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Led Zeppelin, and Coldplay. Most definitely not in that order.

6. Where do you live? And, do you have a valid source of transportation? West Covina. If by VALID, you mean, every once in a while it runs, yes, Sherman, my '85 Panzer...I mean Volvo, works.

7. Anything else that you could help contribute to the letter red? My occasional sense of humor. And also, pants. Just kidding about the pants...I have a grand total of 2 pairs.

Well... I'm not a bass player but I play guitar so naturally I can play both... heres the other shit first...1. 222. As long as I can remember... somewhere around 9 years.3. Yes... many a) Memphis in May (on myspace) -- wrote everything and played everything while recording including vocals and screaming b) Rayah... not metal, but I played guitar and bass for some time with that band... c) Various metal bands that were for fun... ie "The Hawethorne Effect" with the lead singer of in reverent fear and a small side project with the old guitarist from As I Lay Dying d) A pop punk/indie band a million years ago called No Where to Go e) Dying Under Insecurities4. Well being a guitarist I have guitars... but I probably could get my hands on something.5. 1. Everytime i die 2. Norma Jean 3. The Chariot 4. Dillinger Escape Plan 5. The Bled... Guess that's it... I guess6. I live in Azusa and yes I have a Jeep7. Ummm... I'm Alex Armstrong... and well... I kick ass. But seriously... I just need to get back into a scene because I haven't been able to play some real metal since I moved back to Cali from TX. I need the outlet. Music is my thing so... yeah, I got a lot to offer to Red Letter.
